iPhone 14 Screen Leak: Face ID on Screen!

Apple analyst Ming Chi Kuo gave a leaked iPhone 14 series screen that will apply punch hole technology at the top of the screen. Similar to what many Android smartphone manufacturers have done since it first appeared on Huawei Nova 4 in 2018.

By adopting punch-hole technology, of course, the absence of a notch on the front of the screen makes the iPhone design language more modern. In addition to the news, there is additional information related to the supplier of the screens used for this latest iPhone series.

Ming-Chi Kuo revealed at least the highest series of iPhone 14 will use a punch hole screen. That is, the punch hole screen will definitely be available on the iPhone 14 Pro and Pro Max. That way, now how will the Face ID sensor be implanted? The answer may be on the screen.

Since the iPhone 14 series is still in the development stage, the face ID sensor inside the screen may also still be in development and there is also the possibility to be canceled.

There are four models to be launched: iPhone 14, iPhone 14 Max, iPhone 14 Pro, and iPhone 14 Pro Max. Each pro and non-pro variant will have two screen variants: 6.1 inch and 6.7 inch. There is no iPhone 14 mini series for next year due to its unsatisfactory sales.

Reported by TheElec, both screen giants Samsung and LG will supply the screen that will be used in the iPhone 14 series. Both companies will use LTPO TFT OLED screens.

LG will give their screen for the production of the iPhone 14 Pro Max screen with a size of 6.7inch. This is the first time LG has supplied a screen for Apple. Surely it can be a stepping stone for them as well as an advantage for Apple in negotiating with Samsung.

Samsung will supply the screen for the iPhone 14 Pro screen with a size of 6.1 inches. Samsung has been Apple's main screen supplier since the iPhone X was first launched in 2017. This year, Samsung supplied more than 120 million OLED screens to Apple alone.

Another manufacturer is BOE, which supplies LTPS TFT OLED screens. The screen of them will be fitted to the 6.1-inch iPhone 14 (non pro) series. This screen has a lower quality than the two previous manufacturers. Face ID on screen?Regarding iPhone 14 leaks, great to see. We showed under panel Face ID in the 2022 Pro models in June... Screen analyst Ross Young first said that the iPhone 14 series screen would be embedded face ID underneath. But for now, the technology is still in development. The possibility of this idea being dropped is certainly still large.I would say under panel Face ID isn't final yet. Still being worked on. It is easier than under panel cameras though

But he also added that the application of this sensor is easier than implementing a camera as some new Android smartphones do, such as the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 3 5G, vivo Apex 2020, and Xiaomi Mix 4.
